I’ve written before about what it takes to be an -er…you know, like being a photographer, rather than just someone who takes pictures.
I’m now launching my second blog; you can pop over and take a look at it: 2yearsofpsalms.wordpress.com.
So, if I have two blogs, does that make me a blogger? What if I only have 30 people subscribing to my blog? Do I still qualify?
As before, I observed that I think the issue is that there needs to be an element of intentionality and ongoing investment.
I’ve written over a hundred posts, does that do it? My new blogging project comes with a 2-year commitment; that sounds like ongoing investment. Am I meeting my own definition?
I think I may just have to see how it goes. Perhaps the label isn’t really important. At this point, I don’t think I would call myself a blogger, mostly because I don’t see it as a huge part of my life or identity. I blog. I write. Soon, I’ll be blogging more and writing more. I expect that it may be a process of self-discovery, and perhaps some time in the future, I may apply some sort of shorthand -er to summarize who I am.
But for now, it’s just me. Nothing has changed, except that I have a new outlet to use to admit and explore.
